Han Zheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, attended and delivered a speech at the "one planet" summit in Beijing by video on the 11th.

Han Zheng said that all countries share weal and woe. There is only one earth in the universe, and human beings share one home. In order to realize the sustainable development of human beings, we need a harmonious and symbiotic earth, a clean and beautiful earth, an open and inclusive earth. This year, China will hold the 15th Conference of the parties to the Convention on biological diversity in Kunming. The conference will formulate a "global biodiversity framework beyond 2020" and draw up a blueprint for biodiversity conservation in the next 10 years. We should make joint efforts and take actions to ensure that the conference will achieve positive results, start a new process of global biodiversity governance, and promote the co construction of a global community of life. First, we should take the road of win-win cooperation, strengthen communication, and work together to promote the framework negotiation process. Second, we should take the road of both ambition and pragmatism, conduct scientific research and formulate post-2020 action goals to ensure rationality and enforceability. Third, we should take the road of common improvement, strengthen resource mobilization and implementation guarantee, and effectively improve the implementation capacity of developing countries.

Han Zheng said that under the guidance of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, China's ecological environment protection has made remarkable achievements. China has drawn a red line for ecological protection, established a national park system, and implemented major biodiversity conservation projects. As a result, the terrestrial and marine ecological environment has been significantly improved. We will continue to improve environmental quality and build a beautiful China in accordance with the requirements of high-quality development.

Launched by the United Nations, the world bank and France in 2017, the "one planet" summit focuses on global climate and environmental governance, which has been held for three times. The theme of the summit is biodiversity conservation.
